About this experience
This journey places you at the frontline of one of Earth’s greatest natural spectacles the Great Wildebeest Migration. Witness more than two million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles as they navigate the Mara River, facing powerful currents and formidable crocodiles. With a professional local guide and carefully selected camps positioned in strategic migration zones, you enjoy unmatched access to dramatic river crossings, predator interactions, and breathtaking landscapes. This safari combines Northern Serengeti action with Central Serengeti big cat country, Tarangire’s elephant kingdoms, and the wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Crater all in one immersive adventure.

Planning perspective
How I’d plan this experience
If your priority is spending meaningful time in migration country rather than rushing through a single game drive, this ten-day itinerary has a strong case: it places several days in the Northern Serengeti before continuing through other wildlife regions. I’d plan around the journey’s practical details as carefully as its headline spectacle, especially the extra flight cost and the fact that a river crossing is wildlife, not a scheduled performance.
Who I’d recommend it for
This suits you if you want a broad Tanzania safari with time devoted to the Great Migration as well as other landscapes. The itinerary starts with three nights in the Northern Serengeti, including a full day exploring Kogatende, and the overview also names Central Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro Crater. That combination makes sense if variety matters alongside the chance of seeing migration activity.
I’d be more cautious about recommending it if you need a very relaxed, low-effort holiday. The trip includes long game-drive days, and the listing calls for moderate physical fitness and says it is not recommended for people with poor cardiovascular health. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Set expectations for the migration
The Northern Serengeti is presented as a river-crossing area, with drives along riverbanks, plains and kopjes. I’d choose this itinerary if those possibilities are a major draw, but I wouldn’t treat a crossing as guaranteed: the description explains where crossings take place, not that one will happen during your dates. Even without that dramatic moment, the planned days include looking for herds and predators.
Resolve the flight question before you plan
There is a real logistics decision between flying and driving from Arusha to the Northern Serengeti. The itinerary allows either, but the listed flight from Kilimanjaro to Serengeti North is not included and needs advance booking. My advice is to settle which option you intend to use before building the rest of your travel plans around the safari; don’t assume the air leg is bundled.
Pickup is available from an Arusha hotel or the airport, but the instructions ask you to confirm airport pickup at least 48 hours ahead. International and domestic flights are excluded, as is Arusha accommodation before or after the safari unless arranged.
Know what the package covers
Nine nights’ accommodation, nine breakfasts, lunches and dinners, a professional English-speaking guide, and a private 4x4 safari vehicle are listed as included. That is a useful foundation for a multi-day trip, but it does not cover everything you may need to budget or arrange: international and domestic flights, insurance, visa fees, alcoholic drinks and tips are listed separately. I’d keep those exclusions visible when comparing the overall commitment, rather than judging the itinerary by its included safari days alone.
